Travelling thru this country can be quite harsh: raw climate, no water, dry ground, serpents and vultures. Especially for a bold wedding photojournalist and especially in middle-aged Arizona… Luckily, I am in Italy and we are quite way over the first decade of the 2000, it is a good year and we should have reached mars by now but we are lazy. Me? I am not lazy… well I can be a lot of things: weird, discordian, crazy wedding photographer, fearless, hungry, thirsty and even a bit zany but I am sure as hell I am not pastafarian.
Tuscany is an overwhelmingly nice region, everybody love Tuscany and I appreciate it a lot, in the end I here shooting weddings just half of the year…
For Gina e Stefano it was more than an overwhelmingly nice region, it was a fairyland, a magic ground and a holy land where to crown their love dream and when somebody crowns someone or something you can be damn sure that I am there to take picture and that makes me happy.
They chose to celebrate the wedding in Badia Campoleone, a luxury mansion with charming interiors with a historical fashion. The many years passed were narrated by the halls’ frescos and by the general architecture, especially the internal church, the structure was built over a Benedictine monastery from the 11th century, all surrounded by smells of lavender and thyme.
After a wonderful ceremony in the woods, the couple walked to the cocktail area, where musicians entertained the guests. The dinner occurred outside on a beautiful imperial table, surrounded by trees illuminated by fairy lights and candles in the garden but mainly (and this is totally my cup of tea) with plenty of delicious food made with genuine and fresh ingredients and cooked by the mansion chef.
Then the cake… baked by the groom himself!!! A scrumptious fruit jam tart that they cut under a tree decorated with flowers and candles.
The perfect closure was the wild party with an amazing swing band, everybody dancing, diving in the swimming pool and streams of whiskey until late night!
