Everybody wants to marry someone from Piedmont, believe me, I know; well I don’t want to marry anyone, at least in the next 35 years, last time I thought about wedding a black nasty mole appeared on me head, so the doctor forbid me to think about wedding. But I know for certain that Piedmont people are well off. All possible reasons on the planet can be summarized in one word: gianduia… but this is another story.
Our story is not so different. We don’t know for sure if Selden, a galactically gorgeous Atalanta gal, is a chocolate addict but being with Riccardo… it’s a clue, a strong one. In fact he’s from Piedmont, the homeland of the magnificent gianduiotto, a genuine but strong hazelnut cocoa praline that is the ideal energy punch for every zany wedding photojournalist like me.
We could risk and say that love is stronger than chocolate but Selden and Riccardo are not new into the world of generating contagious love, in fact they already have a sweet little baby girl, and willing to be even more happy they decided to bake another one that while you read this very nice should have be delivered.
The place chosen to crown their love dream was Lake Orta a picturesque small lake near Lago Maggiore and near to Switzerland, so horribly near, that I can smell the dairy candy bars directly from the mills, brought in by the wind, and that is extremely perturbing for the concentration of a fearless wedding photographer addicted to gianduiotti.
After a nice and relaxed civil ceremony in the morning, gladdened by an intriguing but proficient string quartet, the amazing couple headed straight for the boat to go to the extraordinary Ustaria Ca dal Rat, one of the best restaurants of the area and I can tell you because it looks like I was born to come to eat here. For a moment, it seemed to me that princess Snow White in person was wandering for the restaurant aisles but I resisted fainting and I asked the wedding planner… and no, she was not actually Snow White but someone dressed like her! Amazing isn’t it!? What a sample case of thing you can do nowadays!!!
One of the amazing thing of this wedding was the atmosphere so relaxed, so amused, so enjoyable. After the lunch and the cake the parry turned on and the dance started thanks also to the legendary Attack-a-Boogie swing band with their “broccolino” sound. I am not a crazy photographer, I am just a bit wacky but still I swear I can smell the dairy chocolate candy bars by opening my nostrils to the wind, and between Selden and Riccardo I smell lot of gianduia love.
